Personal Memories

The Household of Bromley Manor was at Coronation. Yes, it was hot (but we'd take heat over rain any day). We arrived as gate was opening. Because of the heat, everyone's main concern was to find an encampment spot which afforded the maximum amount of shade. But our small household found a little glade amongst the trees and it served us very well. The Barony of Madrone arrived soon after and situated their larger encampment in front of the neck of the niche. But they were very kind and considerate, being careful to leave us egress from our camp.

We had a merry time. The coronation was very nicely done, a narrative running through it all, telling the story of the ascension of Vik and Inga to the throne, the events leading to their decision to step down, the crown tourney, and the victory of Cedric. Also enjoyable was the performance of Chaucer's The Miller's Tale put on by House Dao. Exquisitely ribald and an imaginative production.

Although Bromley Manor has been attending events for the past 18 years, this was our first July Coronation and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
