Persona

Archibald the Red was born in mid 16th century Scotland of ambiguous heritage. Travelling about the lands, Archibald learns new things, documenting what is to be seen and meets new people while sharing knowledge and trading items.

SCA History

First learning about the SCA in 2015 at the Saskatoon Comic Expo SCA booth and heavy demo, Archibald finally joined up when they moved out to BC in 2022 and went looking for a community to join. Starting off in the rapier practices out in the park in Westbank, Archibald soon found themself at a demo in the park in June and the Scottish Festival demo in July of 2022, after which they attended their first SCA event; Tir Righ A&S and Bardic Championship 2023 in Danescombe. At this event they found their interest piqued by the displays put on by several folk, especially the nettle processing display by Sadhbh Bheag inghean Toirrdhealbhaigh. They became a part of Clan Sinclair after that event and then had their first camping experience at Freeze Off (aptly named as was found out the wrong way). It was also at this event that they were fully nerd-sniped into the land of A&S by a class on naalbinding. From there they found their way into spinning and processing wool, natural dyeing, cold forging, leather working, pewter casting, painting, jewellery and pin making, and the list will continue to grow...

Slowly, Archibald will find the courage to actually fight heavy properly. Because stepping out there and failing can be hard, but also very rewarding.
