House Blue Dog began in the near reaches of history, in the once great Shire of Cragmere (Insula Magna, Principality of Tir Righ, northern reaches of the Kingdom of An Tir).

The principals were Kjartan kráka and Doireann Dechti with their Norse influence of hospitality and generosity, and Halima al-Rakkasa with the Arabic influence of hospitality and education. The household tenets became: hospitality, teaching, and merchanting.

The Talbot, a dog, was chosen for it's friendly demeanor, and helpfulness to all those with kind hearts. Blue because... heraldry! The badge is held jointly by Kjartan kráka and Doireann Dechti.

Membership

Merchant Links

In addition to one or more representing House Blue Dog at an SCA event near you (that is, in Tir Righ, especially Insula Magna), some of our members have websites which may have sales options. Any of our members may be sought out at events or via Facebook to inquire about the items they create.

Teaching

As noted earlier, education/teaching is one of our Tenets. As a group, we have a wide range of talents, and a passion for infecting others with our skills. Do reach out to us, or to the The University of Tir Righ for details on who teaches what, and where that class or those classes will be held.

Note that Halima has started to upload her class handouts to her website MoltenMidnight.ca.

Stop by and say "Hi!" the next time you see the Blue Dog!
