Legio XXIII (Ferox) was the first Roman Legion in what became Tir Righ. Based in Seagirt this unit of primariliy heavy fighters fought in the very first Tournament of Armies in Lions Gate and provided the guard for Dux Darius' first reign.

The standard carried by soldiers of the Legion was a vexillum, a small cloth standard for a detached unit. Seen in the picture below the vexillum had the name and number of the Legion (XXIII, the year AS the group was founded), the nickname FEROX, Latin for "fierce" and a depiction of Cerberus the three-headed hound of Hades which served as a kind of mascot.
