Court Report
Being the Report of the Final Court of Their Highnesses Ulf and Amanda, Prince and Princess of Tir Righ. Court held on May 13, 2006 being AS XL at Tir Righ Summer Investiture in the Barony of Lions Gate.
Her Highness of Amanda gave words of welcome. She said it was very exciting to be Princess, different from being a baroness. She enjoyed going to new places, and being able to meet the most amazing people, to learn about the things people do, and the service they give.
His Highness Ulf then spoke to the populace, saying He has enjoyed being the Prince of the finest principality. It has been a privilege to travel to branches far and wide within Tir Righ, and He felt privileged to lead the most wonderful principality. His Highness then faltered and said He felt a weakening, but did not know from whence it came. Prince Ulf said that as the Principality moves forward He knows that the people of Tir Righ will provide the Coronets with the support and strength that They will need.
On behalf of Prince Ieuan and Princess Gwyneth, by the Grace of King Uther and Queen Angharad, Their Highnesses presented Thomas of Blackwood (Appledore) with an Award of Arms (17 Nov AS XL).
Viscountess Bernadette, autocrat, spoke about the event organization.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Arn of the Dark Wyvern an Award of Arms, which was accepted by the Tanist and Ban-Tanist.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Leah of Surrey (Lions Gate) an Award of Arms.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Tremayne de Clairvaux (Lionsdale) an Award of Arms.
His Highness Ulf thanked the Barony of Lions Gate for hosting Them and providing a pavilion for Their Final Court. His Highness said He hopes the principality pavilion project will be completed over the new few months. Rose is leading the team, and He asked that persons willing to help give their name to Her Ladyship Elanor Wrenn.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Rhun Collblan (Lions Gate) an Award of Arms.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Ciahne Wolf of the Clan McBean Award of Arms, which was accepted by the Tanist and Ban-Tanist.
His Lordship Edrik, Gamesmaster to Their Highnesses, spoke about the Games Tournament. Many games were played, games were never repeated. They had children playing, they had adults playing. Everyone had fun. Retinue was well represented, and the new reign was well represented. The winner of the tournament was Alejandra Montya. His Lordship Edrik presented Alejandra to the Storm Thornes, where he was presented with a gift from Their hands. The prize was Sir Gerhard of Westmoreland's personal tablero board, along with coins minted he minted.
Ban-Tanist Ksenia Einarsdottir, Arts and Sciences Officer for the Principality of Tir Righ, stepped down from her office. Her Ladyship Elanor Wrenn was invested as Principality Arts and Sciences Officer and did swear fealty to Their Highnesses.
The members of Her Highness' guard were called forth, thanked by Her Highness for serving Her, His Highness and the Principality so well, and released from service.

By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Brion of Lions Gate (Lions Gate) an Award of Arms.
Her Highness Amanda presented Chang with a Clinton bead, with thanks for running the Clinton tavern. Master Sunjan was presented with a Clinton bead for almost single-handedly being responsible for those weird round shelters.

Her Highness said these people kept Her on track, gave her something to wear, provided service, help, inspiration and correction. Each was given a Princess' Talon of Favour.
Alicia le Wilful and Stephan of Humanby spoke about the Shire of False Isle's Mermaid's Tourney, to be held the first weekend of July.

By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Basseeva an Award of Arms.
Sir Hrothgar Thorvaldsson, Marshall of Tir Righ, stepped down from his office and was thanked by Their Highnesses for his service. HL Saif al Sirhan was invested and swore fealty to Their Highnesses.
Members of Her Highness' Retinue, Viscountess Maelen of Catcott and Countess Melissa Kendal of Westmoreland, were called forth, thanked and released from service.
His Lordship Cyneric Bearson spoke about the Relay for Life on June 3, and Sealion War on the weekend of June 9 - 11.
His Highness' guards and ladies in waiting were called forth, thanked and released from service.
By the grace of King Sven and Queen Signy, Their Highnesses awarded Guy Beaugrand de Champaign an Award of Arms, which was accepted by the Tanist and Ban-Tanist.
Baron Geoffrey McLean was called forth, but was not present. His Highness Ulf said that much at Clinton was built by Baron Geoffrey's hands or under his supervision. His Highness knew Baron Geoffrey for several years before He became award that Baron Geoffrey did not actually live within the boundaries of Tir Righ. Their Highnesses awarded Baron Geoffrey the Order of the Silver Pillar; his award was read into court so that it could be presented later.
Court was recessed for fifteen minutes.
Her Highness Amanda called for two people who had given Her so much service. In spite of hardships, they were incredible. Her Ladyship Algae McBeign and His Lordship Edrik ap Pengam were called forth, thanked for their service and were each given a Princess' Talon of Favour.
His Highness Ulf spoke of someone who had served Kingdom and Principality, and who had brought joy, entertainment and misery but above all else service to the arts of combat. Lady Bolverk of Momchilovich was called forth and invested into the Order of Hafoc.
His Highness then proclaimed that Principality taxes would be raised, that all hats with feathers were banned and that M&Ms were now the official food of Tir Righ. His Highness was called aside by an advisor and did return grievously wounded.
Declaring that He could not leave the Principality in such a state, Prince Ulf did invest Tanist Kheron as the new Prince of Tir Righ and Prince Kheron did then invest Ban-Tanist Ksenia as His Princess.
Thus ended the Final Court and the Reign of Their Highnesses Ulf and Amanda, Prince and Princess of Tir Righ.

Event Highlights
Greetings Tir Righ,
This weekend past we celebrated the investiture of our new Prince and Princess of Tir Righ... Long live he Highnesses Kheron and Ksenia!!!
On Saturday we held a 100 minute Squires Tourney with 34 entrants. Most Wins was given to Leith Ambrehid with 68, Most Fights went to Aibhlin with 84 and the Chivalry Prize was awarded to Saif al Saran among other things for his courtesy to the List Ladies. (I will include all the results at the end of this e-mail)
Sunday brougth with it the Tir Righ Heavy Champions Tourney where 24 combatants fought for the honour of holding the Great Spear of the North "Boars Tooth" The finals saw Viscount Ieuan face Savaric Port de Lion, the first bout went to Savaric, the second to Ieuan and when the dust settled Savaric stood above all as Tir Righ's Heavby Champion. (Best death was later awarded to Viscount Ieuan).

Personal Memories
A memory of the Investiture Ceremony:
Their Incoming Highnesses had decided on a theatrical investiture:
His outgoing Highness, Prince Ulf, imposed a number of unpopular taxes (including one on feathers in hats -- to be paid in beers, and banning all 13th-C personas), and then was urgently called out of court to deal with brigands. After a bout of much shouting, banging of swords on shields and other sounds of combat from behind the royal pavilion, he came back into court bloodied about the head and obviously injured unto 'death'. He called in his heir, quizzed him to make sure he understood the duties he was about to undertake (the oath part of the ceremony), invested him, and then died on the throne. The deceased Prince was borne away by his all-woman King's Guard -- word has it that they'd been practising that bit for several days as His ex-Highness is a well-build man. I hear a rumour that the blood-soaked cloth used by Viscount Ulf (Saint Ulf, if we can identify two more miracles) has become a relic and pieces will be available for purchase in the near future.
During the Squire's Tournament on Saturday afternoon, Mistress Meresigha and I made Schmutzgeekla (deep-fried bread dough) on the eric and gave it away to passers-by (once they said "schmutzgeekla").
During breaks in the Heavy Championship Tournament, Viscount Ieuan and Sir Yusuf demonstrated lessons in Fighter Appreciation, narrated by Baron Devin. Very enlightening... and amusing.
Also during breaks in the Heavy Championship tournament on Sunday, Sir Oak and a number of people gave a demonstration of Norst Stickfighting (or Stick Wrestling, as I heard some folks call it). In one of the last bouts, a gentleman broke/sprained his wrist.
We had frost Friday night, but the days were bright, clear and quite warm.

Here were Prince Ulf III's last proclamations:
- Taxes to be raised by 3 Baraks per person & all hats with feathers will be subject to a fine of 1 cold beer
- M&M's are hearby the official food of Tir Righ
- Anyone found living in the 13th Century will be summarily sentenced to be covered in fish oil & fed to the royal cats
After court, I asked Mistress Meresigha how it felt that she and Mistress Megan were now the official food of Tir Righ. She laughed and said she'd have to talk to Megan about it!

Somewhat less interesting to the populace, but my own memories of the event, nonetheless...
In no particular order:
Setting up on Friday and seeing Kieran Gunn and Dominiqua Perreira camping just across from us. I was so happy to see our friends again...my friend's son projectile vomiting in my tent (thankfully, nothing vital was affected)...Meeting little Zorah and her mother Devora; being gifted with fresh mint by them was so well-timed - it kept my tent smelling wonderful all weekend!...My son, Geoffrey the Incorrigible, falling asleep on my lap during court...My daughter, Emily the Unabashed, head-butting me so hard during court that Her Excellency, Baroness Aurora actually commented on it afterwards...Seeing our beloved Amanda sit as Princess one last time...Having Mistress Elizabeth Braidwood come up to me after the event to tell me it had been a pleasure camping next to me and my children. I always worry that others will feel put out by camping next to small children, but Mistress Braidwood was so very courteous and kind. I will never forget that.

Site opens 5pm on Friday May 12th and closes 5pm Sunday May 14.
- Overnight camping is allowed.
- The site is a hop, skip and a jump from the Aldergrove border crossing (north of Bellingham, WA).
- There is no potable or running water on site so please bring your own.
- There are no flush toilets; Porta-Potties only.
- Please pack out your garbage.
- Regular An Tir smoking and leash laws are in effect. (Please note: coyotes have been seen on farm before. Leash laws apply to both ends of the leash, thank you).
- The site is part of a working dairy farm, please be respectful of all site rules, thank you.
PRE-REGISTRATION is available for those wishing to avoid lengthy gate line ups!! Merchants and RV's MUST pre-reg. (RV space is very limited, first come, first serve) Pre-reg. ends April 30th. See contact information below with autocrat info.
REFUND POLICY: Pre-registration is refundable with at least one week notice, minus a $2.00 processing fee.
