Court Report

Greetings unto the populace of An Tir,

The following events occurred in the courts of Their Royal Majesties Vik and Inga last weekend at Kingdom Arts and Sciences in the Barony of Wastekeep.

Morning Court:

HL Mairghread inghean Uilleim, autocrat of the event, had words for the populace.

The Order of Chivalry was called forth and Matthius Bane received the accolade of the Order.

Fiach cuCool was brought forth by the Ladies of the Rose and Ladies of the Valorous Estate. After many words of his kindness and generosity the history of the Belated Rose was told and Fiach was admitted to the Order.

Dame Gwen the Potter, A&S Deputy, had words regarding the day’s competition.

Their Royal Majesties called forth all who would enter in the Kingdom Arts and Sciences Championship to come forward and accept the competitor’s oath.

Court was suspended until evening when the following occurred:

Their Majesties invited forth all those that would swear fealty to Them.

Their Majesties gave gifts to the autocrat and the Baron & Baroness of Wastekeep for their hospitality and generousity.

Emelot du Harfleur, of Blatha An Oir, was granted a Goutte de Sang.

The Baroness of Three Mountains presented Their Majesties with scutage for Their reign.

Gracion de la Rochelle, Kingdom Rapier Champion, was called forth and received an Award of Arms from Their Majesties hand.

Baroness Bridgit made an announcement about the upcoming An Tir / West War.

Roth, of Wastekeep, was called forth to be admitted to the Order of the Goutte de Sang.

Inguz Sigrun Miksdottir presented prizes from a recent event.

Juliana de Luna was placed on vigil for the Order of the Laurel, elevation date to be announced.

Dame Gwen the Potter presented prizes to:

Sabine d'Angers for Laurel’s Choice
Alicia le Wilfulle for Populace Choice
Mhairi mon myn Cymru for Competitor’s Choice
Alicia le Wilfulle for Highest Individual Entry Score
Duchess Hlutwige for Crown’s Choice

Their Majesties presented Dame Gwen with gifts to thank her for all the hard work she and her team did to bring about such a competition.

Ysabella Greene, of Wastekeep, was granted a Goutte de Sang by Their Majesties.

Isabeau Fichet, of Lion’s Gate, was admitted to the Order of the Jambe de Lion.

Marquessa Laurellen de Brandevin was admitted to the Order of the Mano d’Oro in recognition of her years of hard work to and for the arts and sciences community.

Janvier de Mer, of Three Mountains, was granted an Award of Arms.

Isabeau Fichet was again called forth by Their Majesties. At that time she stepped down as Kingdom Arts and Sciences Champion and was granted a Lion’s Heart in recognition for her time as Champion.

Dame Ellen, Arts and Sciences Minister then announced the finalists that would vie for the Championship on Sunday. They were:

Sabine d'Angers
Jack Tyler (aka Dyon de Mantel)
Hlutwige Wolfkiller

Court was closed but recommenced after the evening’s theatrical performance where Their Majesties elevated Dyon de Mantel to the Order of the Laurel.

Sunday Court commenced after the finalists presentations and the following occurred:

His Majesty read words of banishment to be published in The Crier.

The autocrat thanked everyone for attending and her staff for working so diligently all weekend.

An announcement regarding the highway pass reports was made to much rejoicing by those crossing the mountains.

Their Majesties then called forth the three finalists for the Championship and thanked them for all their hard work and dedication.

Duchess Hlutwige Wolfkiller was invested as the new Arts and Sciences Champion of An Tir.

Congratulations to Duchess Hlutwige on her victory and all the well deserved award recipients!

Event Copy

Merchants will offer fine wares in the market during the day, with hearty fare provided at the kitchen. A Tavern Night will make the evening merry. All attending Tavern night are to bring finger foods: meats, cheeses, bread, fruits, & desserts.

Remember! If you are entering the Championship competition, your letter of intent, including your complete contact information and list of entries, must be delivered to Their Majesties and to the Kingdom Minister of Arts & Sciences by Kingdom Twelfth Night! Refer to the Entrants Handbook for specifics on the Competition!

No alcohol or weapons on site gounds (This is a city educational building)

No candles in building allowed

Children at this event must be supervised at all times.

Event opens 7:00 am on March 7, and closes 4:00 pm on March 8. The site fee will be $12 for adults,$5 for children 10 and under. The non-member surcharge will be in effect. Make checks payable to "SCA Inc. -Barony of Wastekeep".

The site is the C. L. Booth Education Service Center, 1215 W Lewis St., Pasco WA 99301, (for Directions to the Site). There is a large Competition Room with windows along one wall. Adjacent to the Competition Room is a Multimedia Classroom, which will be an excellent Ithra room. Across a small hallway is the building’s Lunch Room. There are all sorts of vending machines, an ice machine, and a small kitchen area. There are plenty of tables for folks to sit around while eating and conversing. The Barony of Wastekeep is going to provide most of the food for the weekend for all attendees. There will be a small breakfast as many will be at the hotel. Lunches will be soups with bread, cheeses, and fruit and veggies. Dinner Saturday night will be a Tavern night with entertainment to be announced. We would request that everyone bring finger foods and the Barony will supply Sausages on Rolls.

We have made arrangements with a local hotel for rooms for attendees. The Clover Island Inn has Single Queen rooms and Double Queen rooms. There are a couple of ADA rooms in the hotel. All rooms will be $89.oo per night. The hotel offers a Gourmet Continental Breakfast included with your room. You must call the front desk and say you need a room at the Barony of Wastekeep price to make a reservation. The number is 1-866-586-0542. There are some other hotels in the area, but they are further away. Here is a list of some other local hotels.

There are some restaurants nearby and at the hotel if you do not wish to partake of the food being provided. (Food).
