Stephen's SCA Career
Stephen was brought into the SCA in 2010 by his late Aunt HL Anya MacLachlan alongside his mother HL Diana Cartier. It helped that a friend of his, Rodrek Eirikson, had started playing earlier. What first started as a way to get out of the house and try something he had since given up on, soon blossomed into what would drive and shape him over the following years. Through Rodrek he got connected with House Awry, Dragon's Laire weekly Social & Fight Practice, and Service. Though Thrown Weapons is what got him connected to the Marshallate community, Target Archery called most strongly to him. Having given up on it as a youth (being a skinny kid and the only bow he had attempted pulling was a hunting bow), he found where he wanted to focus a goodly amount of his time.
House Awry showed him that there was more to the SCA than shooting and throwing. There is also Service and Arts. Arts not being his strong suit, he pursued Service. Before events, during, and after them it was hard to pin down where he was, but you knew for certain he was there. You needed something moved, set up, or torn down? Call for him, call for Awry and it was sure to get done.
After his first couple years of general trying things out and being where he was needed, he finally got into his groove of things. He stepped up as Baronial Thrown Weapons Officer after the Officer at the time stepped back and away from the SCA. He stepped onto the warfield and became an Arcuarius to Magister Arion the Wanderer.

Was part of the Experimental group to test the FatHead 2 combat blunts before they became legal to use in An Tir.
Is part of the Target Siege Experimental group in An Tir lead by the Kingdom & Baronial Siege Officers.
