Bardic Champions: Criteria for Tir Righ Bardic Championship contestants. The bardic contestants are required to enter 3 pieces, at least one of which to be a documented period piece; the other pieces should to be at least "medieval-like" with what documentation can be provided. (Documentation usually refers to period sources, or at least what you can tell us about the authors and their times, and is best printed out). As bardic implies story-telling, poetry, and instrumental music as well, any of these would certainly be acceptable, and encouraged as one of your entries. Contestants are expected to know their material, and will perform their prime entry before an assembly of fellow Tir Righans. Greetings unto the populace of Tir Righ:
The time draws nigh for the Archers of Tir Righ to once again meet to determine who will be Their Highness' Champion of Archery. This year's competition will be a Target Archery Tournament. There will be 3 competitions and the Champion will be determined by the most points accumulated over the 3 shoots. Please note that the Final competition will be a handicap shoot in favour of those who use period equipment. Archers will be allowed to switch to period gear for the final round.
The competition will be run according to the An Tir Royal Round Archery rules and a determination of whether cross bows will be allowed will be made upon inspection of the range.
Prepare yourselves and let's us show Their Highness' the prowess of the Archers of Tir Righ!
Yours In Service,
Her Ladyship Ealeen de Seez
Principality Archery Champion
Arcarius to Master John Macandrew
Apprentice to Mistress Seaglynd Thryisdotter

Personal Memories
(Add your personal event memories here. End them with a blank line, four dashes and another blank line. Don't forget to sign them with dash-dash-tildex3. Reminder: it's considered VERY rude to edit someone else's memories.)
Weather: It was quite chilly already at sundown on Friday night. Although we had originally planned to camp, Mistress Meresigha and I wimped out Friday night and took a hotel room. It was clear and sunny on Saturday and generally pleasant, but because it was clear, Saturday night was even colder than the night before. It was quite breezy on Sunday morning.
The new royal pavilion (?) (blue and white stripes) suffered a break-down on Saturday, startling a member of the retinue who was underneath it at the time. The large fabric roof was unfortunately placed exactly right to catch the wind and the horizontal roof beam broke. It was replaced with a beam from a similar tent, but I notice that the pavilion was taken down Sunday morning after Curia because of the wind.
Tournament was won by Sir Ulfgar and Renee, both new to the thrones. They both looked a little shell-shocked at the outcome.
In the finals, Ulfgar defeated the new knight, Sir Savric who was fighting for Safiye Konstantiniyye. Viscount Ieuen and Sir Hrothgar were also in the semi-finals.
During the Invocation of the Lists my poor handwriting caused the Herald to announce me as the premier of the Order of the Silver PILLOW. We had fun with that all day long.
Meresigha and Vivien of Shaftesbury were both recognized as new members of the Order of the Silver Pillar.
The coolest thing happened just before the Tournament finals. A young fellow standing at the eric ropes just in front of our sunshade turned around, and with a huge grin on his face asked "Isn't it great? Two of my friends are in the Finals!" That, my friends, is one of the reasons why we made this principality -- so that our friends would have the opportunity to be royalty.
