Sonja on Events
(A "keeper" posting from the Steps, 10 Oct 2005)
I love the sounds, the sights, and smells of events. The sight of laughing faces in the firelight, the smell of hot cooking food in the late afternoons when all the houses gather. Most of all, I love the sounds both at day, and especially at night. The carousing conversations; the laughter; or even the boisterous sounds of bard or drunken faire raising their voices through verse to the starry night sky. Many a night, I have wandered in the moonshadows, listening to all of this, soothed by these sounds, attracted like a moth to a flame to the sounds of drumming. Knowing that somewhere there will be swirling cloth and sparkling bells. This is the world I wish I had been born into, not the mundane world which shackles and chains me with schedules and gags me with responsibility.
