Period

The word period is a label used to describe artifacts or activities as being appropriate to the historical time frame of the SCA. Generally a thing can be identified as either period, post-period (historically appropriate for the seventeenth Century or later) or SCA (created within and for the culture that has developed known as The Society).

This word is most commonly used in describing contests and challenges in the Arts and Sciences and forms much of the reason for documentation which provides evidence and rational for a thing being considered period.
