- Background: Henrik and Seitse are the twenty-fourth King and Queen of the West. In August, they invested Prince Frederick and Princess Anne, as the first Prince and Princess of the Principality of An Tir.

- Some time in October VIII/1973, an organizational meeting heralds the beginnings of the S.C.A. in Lions Gate. Attended by Susan the Opaque, Michael le Voyageur, Pere Daniel, Illya, Bjorn of Havok and Akbar. Held at Susan and Michael’s home. Fighting practices are begun three weeks later and are held at the North Shore Neighbourhood House where Bjorn is working at the time. Having heard that the S.C.A. fought with rattan swords, and eager to begin fighting, Bjorn weaves swords from rattan caning used in chair seats.
