Jeanne of the Isles

I guess I thought I'd done this a couple of years ago.

Jeanne of the Isles joined the SCA in A.S. XXII, having learned from Danielo il Sonatore da Ferrara that a medieval group existed (in a NorWesCon line). I wasn't in on the conversation, but she fired my imagination and we threw together garb and went off to Ursulmas. She learned calligraphy, harping, and eventually falconry. She loved to find (or make) teachable moments. She was part of the Madrone minstrels, and of Madrone dance with her husband George of Mousehole. Her arms and her husband's (and arms she imagined for her son) remain on tiles in her beloved church of St Dunstan's in Shoreline - she especially loved the replica Norman chapel they have access to... she loved Clan McDonnel, the highlands, and Scotland.

Jeanne could and did find the best possible motive for anyone to do anything. She was our teacher in charity, and taught me to stop, look at an email, find the best possible meaning in it and respond to that - you might not be right, but your chances of resolving the problem are about 80% higher approaching things that way!

Jeanne was my little sister, George's wife, little George's mother, Jana's falconry apprentice, Morgan's falconry sister, befriender of many. --Mir (Tvorimir Danilov)
