Remembering Mistress Glynys
Rowenna de Manning Remembers: Glynys was a talented costumer and an excellent belly dancer. During the time I was acquainted with her in the 1980s, she was married to John Balducci, who was a drummer and singer. Their performance was a partnership, with John singing and playing the darbuka, while Glynys danced. They set an example for performance of dance from Egyptian culture with live music rather than recorded music.
