CORONET TOURNEY - STROMGARD 16/17 MAY
The Shire of Stromgard will host the May Coronet Tourney on Hay 16/17 at the Camp Cooper Boy Scout Camp in Willamina, Oregon.
Activities: Lists for the Coronet of An Tir; Contests - Best Witty Limerick, prize to be announced, judged by Princess Maelen, - Best Authentic (pre-1650) Red Meat Dish (recipe and sources must be supplied), prize is a wooden roast platter, sponsored by Alexandra of Cat's Heart - Children's Costume, best set of children's medievals in two categories: made by the child and made for the child by an adult (child defined as a small under the age of 12) ; A Kissing Auction to be held on Saturday night; Dancing and Bardic entertainment.
Schedule: The site will open Friday at 6 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. Lists sign-up and qualification 11 a.m. Procession to the Throne 11:45 Sign-up for Lists ends Noon Coronet Lists begin 5 p.m. End of the Lists - Court 7:30 Kissing Auction 9:30 Dancing, Revelry & Bardic Circle in the Hall Sunday: 10:30 a.m. Lists sign-up 11 a.m. Procession of Champion 11:15 Final Rounds 2 p.m. Final Court
The shire will hold a small, private feast for Their Highnesses in the hall on Saturday. Anyone wishing to entertain at this feast should contact Gwendolyn of Caer Cerddinnen, mka Susan Oldham.
Directions/Logistics: From the South: Take 1-5 north to the Highway 217 exit, follow Highway 217 to 99W. *Take 99W to Dayton-Lincoln City-l8W-233S exit, then follow the exit to the Sheridan-Willamina business loop-18. Proceed along the loop (18) to Willamina Road and turn right (onto Willamina Road). There will be an old wooden sawmill on your left. Take Willamina Road to a sign that reads: "Gilbert Cr.- Coast Cr. Rd. - Canada Cr. - Cooper." Turn left on to Cooper and follow the signs. From the North: Take I-5 south to the Tigard-99W exit.
- (Follow directions as above from 99W.) There is limited parking at the camp, and no parking directly on the site. The autocrats encourage car-pooling. The site fee is $2.50 per person.
