Basilius and his family fled from Germany at the beginnings of the Protestant rebellion and resettled in Lisbon, Portugal; his father and eldest brother became soldiers/security in the lucrative merchant shipping industry in Lisbon.
Basilius is the 4th child (his eldest brother became a Landsknecht solider, 2nd oldest brother became a cook for King John III, his 3rd oldest brother became a merchant in Lisbon, Portugal.
Basilius is training at University in Lisbon to become a jurist/lawyer in the court of King John III.
