Baronesses' War
The first Baronesses' War was held in July 1991 at Zumwalt Park, near Eugene, Oregon. The sponsors of the first Baronesses' War were Morag Campbell of Glenbourne, Baroness of Three Mountains, and Yseult of Broceliande, Baroness of Adiantum.
It was decided that this event would be held every two years.
The event included a Tea to feature the finest examples of the baking art, to be enjoyed by all - but Baronesses and their entourages first. Fighting scenarios required all fighters to be under the banner of one of the Baronesses. However Baronesses and leaders of troops were encouraged to broker alliances, negotiations, swaps, and deals.
In the evening there was Royal Court and a Baronial Court for each Baroness, followed by food and festivity in the Grenadier Mermaid Tavern, hosted by Duke Manfred Kriegstreiber. On Sunday there was a Holmgang-style tournament.
The next Baronesses' War was held in Madrone in 1993. All Landed Baronesses were invited to bring their champions and their "household troops." There was a Baronesses' Tea and multiple war scenarios. The event was held at the RiverGlen Camground in Orting, Washington.
Baronesses' War was hosted by the Baronies of Terra Pomaria and Three Mountains in 1995, at Williamette Mission State Park. At this event the Barons of An Tir sponsored an Arts & Sciences competition, in a neat reversal of the usual inspirational activities of Coronets.
Baronesses' War in Wealdsmere in 1997 was held at the Chelan County Fairgrounds and included archery and rapier combat, in addition to heavy fighting.
In 1999, Baronesses' War was on the calendar for August 6-8, but there was no event copy in the July or August Crier.
