Kale
Kale Kepourina Akropolitissa is a Roman/Byzantinian woman of Greek/Egyptian descent who enjoys the finer things in life. Her boastful attitude, fun, out-going spirit has never failed her as of yet. Although the corousing dosen't really help either, thats just a bonus for her. You could call her...spoiled....perhaps abit egotistical.....but being a merchant sailor, it comes with the job description.
Born in Anatolia, on the shores of the pennisula there-in, approx early 6th century C.E. Her mother died shortly after her birth from complications due to a poor heart. After reaching the age of majority, she was able to help her father on his voyages to other countries for trade around the Mediterranean, along with her two older brothers as well.
One of the their most frequent trips is to the Kingdom of An Tir, where they make various stops at Ports and Baronies of Tir Righ. One of Kale's favorite places to visit is the shire of Lionsdale, where her close friends all live and work in commerce. She one day hopes to settle down there a couple of months out of the year, and continue to man the ship during other months.
In her spare time, she studies philosophy and (attempts at) ebroidering her garments. Something interesting to note about Kale is her family tree. Her mother was from Egypt, when the Byzantian empire had taken the lands as just another roman province, rather than the elaborate kingdom it once was. She was a very prominent and well known dancer. While her father is a Greek merchant ship owner, who comes from the isle of Andros, in the cycladean sea.
Her SCA intrests include dance, games, heraldry, corousing, cooking, costuming, illumination, martial activites, marshalling, arts and sciences, and researching greek/egyptian history.
The current year is 549 A.D. / 2006 C.E. / AS XLI
- Please note, that Kale is an on-going research persona that Ayame is developing over the course of the winter and spring months to come. She will most likely "live" during the summer months of her time playing in the S.C.A.
