Rolf Longbow is an Eleventh Century Saxon who fought for Harold Godwinson and after the war traveled extensively in Europe.  Rolf eventually returned to England and married into a Norman household to retain his land.  Elizabeth Ashley Longbow of Newcastle, known as Ashley, is an Eleventh Century Norman who spends her time managing the family castle among other things.
 
 
Rolf came across the S.C.A. in 1982, joined in 1984, squired to Dyon de Mantel and was knighted in 1991 by His Majesty Davin.  Rolf is an accomplished axe fighter and armorer, specializing in helmets, leather breastplates and gauntlets.  Ashley's first event was the An Tir/ West War in 1985, with two children ages 11 months and 2 1/2 years.  When asked about raising children in the S.C.A., she remarks "it is a valuable learning experience, for both child and adult. Where else can your children learn a living history lesson while spending valuable time together as a family?"

Rolf Longbow and Ashley Longbow of Newcastle were invested as the founding Baron and Baroness of Vulkanfeldt by Uther Schiemann der Hunt and Angharad Banadaspus Drakenhefd, September 3 AS XL/ 2005.
