This information differs from what has been posted on the Summits website.  There is some discrepancy of information about exactly when the Defender's term changed from one year to six months.  While writing the text for the Summits Domesday Book pages (early 2005), I researched this extensively in my and others' personal records, Summits newsletters, and dated photographs.  To the best I could determine at that time, these are the correct dates.  It is amazing how quickly our own history becomes obscure... --[[User:Ravenqaraton|Ravenqaraton]] 02:33, 26 Jun 2007 (EDT)

The confusion probably arises because Hemidal's abdication resulted in a shorter term for Timothy and Barbara, but this was unintended.  These are my specific notes of what I was able to verify based on Echoes newsletter copy:  "Lawrence was still Defender in June AS 28, William of Kent was Defender in November AS 28.  March AS 27/1993 Echoes calendar lists no Defender Tourney.  I think that the one-year term was still in place until William Branan, who won March Defender Tourney 1994 and was invested in June."  Any further info would be welcome.
