This is the first Celtic Bardic where Blatha An Oir held a true Bardic Championship instead of the Celtic Bardic Championship. The current Baron and Baroness at the time, Sir Aleksii Konstantinovich Chernoi and HE Elspeth Nic Grath separated the Bardic elements from the Arts&Sciences to create a separate championship.
