Persona Background

I was born in Wessex, in the year 668. I was an only child, and heir to my father's and mother's lands. My father had great aspirations, and named me after the Queen, a distant relative. I grew up on my father's estate, learning to manage our large household. My mother taught me her skills of healing, from the time I learned to walk. At an appropriate age, my father gave me in marriage to Aethelwolf, a local landowner of means. My husband insisted I participate in managing our large staff and resident crofters. I took on the task of brewing our ale and the servants' ale, a skill I learned from my father. My husband was greatly pleased by my efforts, and the servants were pleased by the quality of their rations. As our hives produced a bounty of honey, I began to ferment the golden syrup into liquid gold. My humble efforts were a boon to our family, as our taxes were easily paid in ale and mead of superior quality. Alas, my husband passed from this life after a quarrel with my son, during a freak hunting accident. I was suddenly widowed. My son has allowed me to remain on our land, as his representative. As a dutiful son, he allowed me to do as I please, which is brew. I managed our estate and holdings in his stead, a function that I enjoyed, and that I was more than capable enough to do. I often provided guidance to young people, benefiting them with the wisdom of my years, and my experience in brewing and costuming. After several years of quiet, our shire was invaded by Vikings, and I was taken captive. As a brewer of some renown, I was held for ransom. Whether it was paid or not is moot, since I was captivated by one of the warriors in this land far south of my home. Thorin Olafsson, a bold and fierce warrior, stole my heart, and took me into his home, where I remain to this day. In the Viking house, I learned many other skills, and spend my days creating finery for my husband and friends, creating shine baubles of glass to delight those who love their bling, and strive to be in service to the Coronet and Crown to the best of my abilities. I have many friends, and I'm sure I have a few enemies, but I am safe in this viking household, as Thorin is squired to the mighty Duke Owain ap Einar, and as such, am protected by him.
