The Rivers Region consisted of an organized group of branches in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington with the intent of ease in reporting concerns and at least in the case of this area, the possibly of forming into a principality. All An Tir regions were formally dissolved in 2002.
History
- October AS XIX/1984 the first stirrings of several branches along the I-5 corridor began hoping to eventually form a principality. Interested branches at the time included the Shire of River's Bend, Shire of Stromgard, the Barony of Three Mountains and its Canton of Terra Pomaria, the Shire of Dragon's Mist, Shire of Coeur du Val, and the Shire of Gryphonsward.
- March AS XXV/1990 the Rivers Region had organized to include the Shires of River's Bend, Stromgard, Dragon's Mist, Vin Oak (Incipient), Terra Pomaria, Sylvan Vale (Incipient) and Coeur du Val. The mundane territory that was considered as included in this region was lands between Kelso, WA to Corvallis, OR north to south and Hood River, OR to Astoria, OR east to west.
- In June 1998 the branches affiliated with the Rivers Region were Coeur du Val, Dragon's Mist, Fire Mountain Keep, Mountain Edge, Corvaria (then unorganized Kings Land centered in Bend, OR), Stromgard, Terra Pomaria and Three Mountains.
- At Crown Council in March 2002 the Rivers Region along with the Western Region and Inlands Region were formally dissolved. Official announcement was to appear in the May edition of The Crier. The only official recognition that was ever to be given to the regions was for reporting purposes.
- Summits Summer Investiture XXXVII/2002 three former branches of the Rivers Region were formally recognized after a polling in November-December 2001 to join The Summits. Those branches were Dun an Chalaidh, Coeur du Val and Terra Pomaria.
Newsletter
- The region's newsletter Currents first issue was March 1990.
- By June AS XXXII / 1998 a quarterly newsletter was also being published known as The Flotsam.
Events
- The Rivers Regional Faire was held for a couple years in the late 1990s at Willamette Mission State Park.
