From Quentin Martel

Sibylla was a doer. She had a strength of character and a way with words that let you know under no uncertain circumstances what she expected out of you and where you stood with her. For her friends, she would stand between you and trouble like a shield and never think twice about herself in the process.

She was truely a noble lady. Receiving a Porte Chalice - Porte de l'Eau's highest honor - is testimony to this simple fact.

My first memory of Sybilla was receiving a phone call from her, It seems I had talked to her previously but I did not remember. I pretended I knew what she was talking about, hoping I could figure it out as she rambled on, when she shouted, "You don't know who the hell I am or what the hell I am talking about do you?!" I had to admit it was true.

I talked with her many times between that day and the day she passed, the last time just three days prior to her leaving us.

I said good bye to her on a sunny day in May of 1995, at her funeral I read a Eulogy I had written for her.

I still miss her.

Gordon Redthorn.

Sybilla was a wonderful, funny woman with a stubborn streak a mile wide. She could be extremely exaasperating one moment and lovable the next. She was a real talent with the needle and thread and made me one of the best tunics I still have, a beautiful black one with silver braid that she actually twisted into knotwork and then attached to the sleeves. She was always there with a helping hand and a strong shoulder, as well as a strong opinion about certain things and the willingness to stand by her convictions. She had two wonderful kids who are all grown up now and no doubt doing wonderful things in the world and a gentle, loving husband whom I hope has found happiness again in his life. I miss her very much and often think of her.

Sibylla's name appears on the Scroll of Honor - An Tir Remembers.
