Hlaford Simon Fisc was born c875 near Tamworth, Mercia. He is named after Simon the Zealot, on whose feast-day he was supposed to have been born (October 28). Until he was 14, Simon was fostered to the monastery at Tamworth, where he learned to read and write both Latin and vernacular. He is married and had three children, only one of whom survived infancy. Simon fought with the Mercian army against Danish incursions and acquitted himself well enough that he was later allowed to accompany his Thegn on a pilgrimage to Rome. He returned in 905 and took over the family holdings on his father's death two years later. With the relative peace of the last decade, Simon has been able to concentrate on improving those holdings, in particular overseeing construction on a new mill and granary.

Simon was briefly involved in the SCA in the early 1990s in Barony Beyond the Mountain in the East Kingdom until he decided that heavy fighting wasn’t a good idea without active health insurance. Interest in archery brought him back to the Society in 2002. In 2014 Simon emigrated to An Tir. He currently resides in the Barony of Wyewood.

Simon is Arcuarius to Tymme Lytefelow.
