Memoria:

Dear old friends of the North,

Our little shire has lost an old friend today, a man we were honoured to call Lord Rorrim. Some called him Sasquatch, some called him Imhotep. I called him Rich. In more ways than one.

He was a graduate of the Kootenay School of Art. His life was full of creativity, from his home to his person! He had a very big heart, but I guess it must have not been too healthy, as he died of heart failure.

He was a stalwart supporter of our shire from the early days, someone you didn't notice doing the work because he never made a big deal about doing it. Someone who worked when he was there.

A gentle soul, always thinking, friend to children and the marginalized. Willing to listen.

He was a good Pagan, a great example of studying the different philosophies in an effort to become a better person. I don't know much about Paganality myself, but I totally respected the way he worshipped. As the Earth starts to bring forth new life this time of year he must be part of it somehow, and he'll always be part of the stones of our own lakeshore and mountains.

He was fourty three, and numbered his friends many. I hope that there will be some who remember him well in the SCA. My family and I will miss him greatly.

Beloved one, you are dead,

but you are not alone.

We are here with you,

the beloved dead await you.

You go from love

into love.

Carry with you

only love

May our love carry you

and open the way.

Your servant,

Magdalen of Haphazard Manor Frozen Mountain
