My friend, Ruby (Dianne) Winn was born April 2, 1956 and died on September 29th, 2003.
She had discovered the SCA some years earlier through me - and spent her first event as my 'slave' doing errands and fetching things. At the end of the loooong event, I saw that she was exhausted when she finally made noises that I should take her home. I wasn't sure she would ever volunteer to attend another event until she mumbled through her fatigue on the way to the car "I'm so tired. When's the next event?"
She soon left the niche of being my slave and discovered middle Eastern - garb, food, dancing, music, and developed other circles of friends and activities within the SCA. Her joy of life and quest for adventure will be missed.
Rest in Peace and watch over us, little buddy.
