Court Report

The following bits of business occured in the Egils Skallagrimson Memorial Tournament court of Their Royal Majesties, Wilam and Siobhan, King and Queen of An Tir 26 day of May, Anno Societatis XXXVII, being 2002 in the common reckoning.

His Lordship Bryan De Albengi, acting as the voice of the Crown, called Yojimbo Hiroshi-nin to come and kneel before Their Majesties whereupon he was awarded arms with all the privileges and burdens of that rank. Huzzah for Lord Yojimbo!

Well pleased with his contributions and the ways in which he has enriched the society, the Crown did the award arms to to Sigivald Garansson much to the delight of the gathered gentles. Vivat Lord Sigivald!

Juan de Leon presented Their Majesties with gifts of mead and chocolate. Huzzah for his generosity!

Alonzo Juan Diegas Ferdinand Enrique Ramirez (try getting that on a scroll! ;) was commanded into the Royal Presence and recognized with an award of arms. Huzzah!

At the point, His Majesty took a few moments to address to populace. He spoke regarding how easy it can be for people to get overlooked, about how sometimes it happens to people who are even pretty prominent in the Society. He continued by saying how nice it was to fix those kinds of things and then mentioned that he was about to do something that has only been done twice before during their reign.

He personally bade Viscount Saer Bane to come kneel before the Him and His Queen whereupon Saer Bane was doubly recognized for his contributions to the arts and for service with enrollment in the right noble orders of the Jambe de Lion and the Goutte de Sang. The happy cheers from the populace echoed across the meadow! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

To what appeared to be her very great surprise, Isabella of Stromgard was escorted to kneel before the Crown to receive her award of arms. Huzzah for Lady Isabella!

Their Majesties then awarded well-deserved arms to Angelika al Roma bint Jei al Jundi for the many ways in which she enriches the Society through service and the arts. Huzzah for Saida (Lady) Angelika!

Squire Ula Brennadottir was dragged-- um, escorted to kneel before Their Majesties. After some good-natured bantering, The Crown took upon themselves their prerogative to admit Ula into the right noble order of the Goutte de Sang. [Personal note: Right on!] Huzzah for Her Ladyship Ula!

Merrick of Westbrook was recognized with an Award of Arms. Vivat!

Sir Njal's "little buddy" was commanded to the Royal presence. (Really! Have him show you his hatband. ;) Their Majesties then did recognize Earnan MacKay with an Award of Arms. Huzzah for Lord Earnan!

Their Majesties presented gifts to Their Excellencies Adiantum and to Their Highness of the Summits. They also recognized Grainne, Seneschal of Adiantum, the Autocrat and Their herald with tokens of esteem.

There being no further business, thus ended the court of Wilam and Siobhan, undoubted King and Queen of An Tir! An Tir! An Tir! An Tir!

An addendum to this report:

I accidentally left out one award that was given during Royal court. Corinna was recognized for all her many contributions with an award of arms! Huzzah for Lady Corrina!

Also, the name of the winner of the novice tourney is Johannes von Langental.

Event Highlights

If I may be permitted a couple of notes regarding other happenings at Egils:

Sir [[Tiernan dal gCais[[ won the Double elimination tourney on Saturday.

Graf Berek's son whose name I can't recall (I'm sorry!) won the novice tournament and hauled away a whole bunch of loot. :)

Olin Wartooth, Squire to Jarl Sir Ulfred won the Holmgang on Sunday and presented a very fine double headed ax made by Prince Durin to his knight.

Frederick Blackmoore, also squired to Jarl Sir Ulfred came in 2nd in the Holmgang and it was his helm that won the helm auction and some great loot for Mistress Trudchen.

My personal thanks to Raven, companion of the order of the laurel, for her scribal work in preparing the award scrolls for court and to His Lordship, Bryan for the great job he did heralding royal court and working with me which is not always the easiest thing. ;) I know you're all shocked! :)
