Maestro Eduardo Lucrezia is the current Arts and Sciences Champion of AnTir.
His motto used to be Non est quis sid quid portare! (It is better to look good than to feel good!) However like a good wine, or cheese, he has matured and his new motto is Aspirano ad ispirare! (Aspire to inspire!)
Eduardo Lucrezia started in the S.C.A during college in the small town of Winchester, Virginia (later to become the Shire of Matina D'Oro, which is no longer an active shire) in the Kingdom of Atlantia in A.S. XVIII/1983. He then moved back home to the Kingdom of AnTir and the Shire of Seagirt (now the Barony of Seagirt). He lived in the Kingdom of Caid for a short time in AS XXI/1986-87 and returned to the Kingdom of Atlantia for several years in AS XXII/1987 returning to the wet and wild Kingdom of AnTir in AS XXXXIV/1989. In AnTir he has lived in the Shire of Seagirt (now Barony), the Barony of Lionsgate, the Barony of Glymm Mere and the Barony of Madrone. Wherever he lives he views himself as a citizen of the Kingdom first!
Eduardo was received his Award of Arms from Dak Ulfredsson and Daedin MacAoidh a'Mhonadh in A.S. XX/1985. He is humbled that his first award was bestowed by the hands of these two great monarchs, both Lions of AnTir.
He was entered into the Order of the Laurel at 12th Night AS XXII/1988 by the hands of Eirikr Thorinsson and Meagan ferch Meredyddand. And into the Order of the Pelican at July Coronation A.S. XXXII/1997 by the hands of Darius Corvinus and Morgaine Brigantia. He became a Baron of the Court of Antir by the hands of Thorin Njalsson and Dagmaer in Hvassa in A.S. XLVI/2012. In May of AS XLVII/2012 he was honored with the Lion of AnTir by the hand of Ieuan Gower and Gwyneth Gower.
Maestro Eduardo was the first Laurel's Secretary in the Kingdom of AnTir (a tradition that was modified from his experiences in Atlantia). He has also served numerous AnTir Royalty as a member of their retinue (mostly as an advisor, as scribe or general run-a-round). Eduardo held the position of Kingdom Costumer's Guild Administrator and was the Arts and Sciences Autocrat for the SCA 30th Year Celebration. In AS XXIX/1995 he became the second AnTir Arts and Science Champion of AnTir and in AS XLVII/2013 he became the first person to succeed at the championship twice.
Maestro Eduardo is also known for founding the Inspirational Equality movement along with Mistress Ariel which advocats for the right of same-gender couples to fight in Crown Lists. Inspirational Equality maintains a facebook group: [1]
At September Crown, A.S. XLV/2011 he petitioned Their Majesties Thorin and Dagmaer to fighter for his husband and the father of his children Lord Giovanni Lucrezia. Their Majesties welcomed the petition to bring attention to the exclusion of same-gender couples from Crown Lists, but turned the couple away as required by Corpora. Since then S.C.A. Corpora has been modified to state "Each competitor in a Royal List must be fighting for a prospective consort of the opposite sex unless the Crown has elected to permit a competitor to fight for a prospective consort of the same sex." Both Maestro Eduardo, Mistress Ariel and the Inspirational Equality Movement in general are working towards total inclusion rather than selective inclusion.
