Introduction to Stone carving, Bear and Apple (Oct 2018) Created 10 sets of tools and hammers for students at both classes. Tools were made with W1 tool steel and were a simple point chisel, 4 tooth chisel, and rounded blade chisel. Bell hammers were also created using 3/8" wall steel pipe that was fit on 1" oak dowel. Grey stone was used as a medium and students had hands on practice in how to make lines, curves, and how to smooth the work. Each student was able to keep their tools and stone that they were working on.
