I have only belonged to the SCA since May 2014 and wish I had found it much sooner. I, with my lord Drake, reside in The Shire at River's Bend. We seem to mostly play within local baronies, especially Barony of Dragon's Mist. My first big event was The Grand Thing by The Barony of Stromgard. I was overwhelmed and hooked!

We attend about 2-3 events a month meeting and having fun with a wide variety of people and activities. There is something for everyone. My main interests are The Apothecary Guild, Bardic Storytelling, and using family genealogy to develop my Personae. I want to really make my personality and history Come alive as much as possible and try to stay in the personae as much as possible. So here goes:

My name is Ashe verch Rees. It is a family name the hails from southern Wales, which was Cymru. I live in the mid 14th Century as an independent older woman with considerable assets. Cymri law allows me to hold land. Sadly, I inherited them after losing my husband and many others to The Black Death. I was blessed to be asked to wed a few years ago by an older Briton Gentleman. I am descended from a noble family, but do not currently hold any titles. Our lands include my manse with some woodland and a small village. We spend much time at our summer home, Secret Seasons Cottage in the Shire.

While I am regarded as a good Christian woman at court and among my peers, I still discretely follow the Old Ways I learned from my Grandmother Rees as a child. I often, simply dressed, go among our beloved villagers with a local wise woman to celebrate the seasons and help with healing practices.
