Became a Barony in January A.S. XXXIV 2000. The Shire of Stromgard was established in 1971 (A.S. V), as a neighbor of the Barony of Three Mountains, in the Principality of An Tir, West Kingdom, during the reign of Steingrim Stellari & Janeltis Karaine Starfollower. The original device submitted had a mermaid that was replaced by a hippocampus in the final approved device due to a conflict. It was approved in 1972, and revised in 1995. The Shire name was registered in 1982; the Barony name in 2004.
Issue #100 (April 1980) of The Crier clearly announces the creation of the Sire of Stromgard. It does have a reproduction of the cover of Crier issue #1, which shows the date of Oct 1971, which may have led to some confusion. Janeltis became a Vicountess in Sep 9, AS XIII (1978), so that doesn't match the 1971 date. It's possible that it became an incipient Sire in 1978.
