Aetheria the Unremembered
If not for Aetheria the Unremembered it is likely that my sister, Elisabeth Piper, and myself, Ian Jameson, would not have become part of the SCA.
She attended the same high school as the two of us, and during an experiential week co-taught a medieval/renaissance costume class; "Make something neat here!" Afterward she looked at us and said words to the effect of "Hey! You looking for a place to wear this stuff?" and proceeded to talk us into attending Egil's III.
I've always disliked her name. Although it's true no one ever remembered it, instead calling her Sam (from the initials of her first and middle names), I disliked the implication she was unmemorable. She was ever so memorable.
One of those she introduced us to at Egil's III was Y Blackhand, whom years later she married. We stayed in the camp of Sumingo of Amaranth, who years later as Princess of An Tir bestowed Elisabeth's AoA.
At one time she taught EAASL courses in Japan, and was active in the SCA groups there, being granted several honors by the Palatine Barony of the Far West.
I don't want her to be Unremembered.
