Summary

as of 2025

Elizabeth is well rounded in all things SCA. She has taught TUTR, participated in dance, A&S, and bardic.

She had worked on set up and tear down crews at the majority of events she attends, served as Royal Guard, and worked extensively during two AT wars for prep week.

Since moving to Seagirt ( while at university) she has joined a service household and continues with set up and tear down (often both) when the household is at events.

At SeaLion Wars in Seagirt you will find her assisting marshalling on the archery range when she isn’t doing combat archery.

Elizabeth is an experienced and gentle archery coach with years of experience in SCA and modern archery clubs.

AT War 2015

The archery war point was a 30 yard speed round with a double line of archers facing single elimination.

Avacal loaded up their top archers, a ludicrous bowman and their archery champion, to take on initial comers. Tir Righ sent in the 13 year old, Elizabeth Macandrew. Thirty seconds later the ludicrous bowman was eliminated. Another thirty seconds and the archery champion joined him.

After some heated discussion on the Avacal side a third archer stepped up. The archers were tied until Elizabeth’ last arrow bounced out of the target and the marshals deemed it out of bounds costing her the round, a decision she accepted gracefully.

Although Avacal won the shoot they did not win the day. That honour went to Elizabeth as the King and Queen of Avacal and the entire Avacal team paid her tribute for her skills.

July 2018

The Seagirt archery final featuring Lord Howard Bevan and Lady Elizabeth Macandrew. It came down to a closest to the mark shoot best out of five. The first round was too close to call and deemed a tie, then Lady Miranda and then Lord Harold won a round each. The deciding round had Miranda in the lead and down to Harold's last arrow which struck near the mark and bounced out. Was it closer? No one could tell. In a wonderful act of chivalry Miranda asked Harold to reshoot it and he did for the victory.

There was much cheering for both the victory and the chivalry.
