A baldric (also baldrick, bawdrick, bauldrick as well as other rare or obsolete variations) is a belt worn over one shoulder that is typically used to carry a weapon (usually a sword).

In the SCA, a while baldric is reserved to indicate a Master at Arms. A more ceremonial fabric baldric might be worn to show a position or office (such as a herald), allegiance (sometimes worn by attendants to the crown or other royals, or worn on the battlefield to show membership to a side or group).
