Good Gentles,

I come to you with another tale of a beautiful event. On Saturday morning my lady and I dragged ourselves out of our pavilion to see the mounted combat display. It was a very interesting form of combat, and one which I myself would love to see more throughout the SCA. Amongst the horses was a shining example of a battle steed, easily 17.5 hands, Max was a large 3 year old gelding who apparently still had some growing to do. This terrific display inspired my lady to consider pursuing equestrian combat, to which I will lend my full support!

The rest of that evening was spent wandering Merchants row, and more than once was I pulled in by the cheery call of 'Cinnamon Rolls! Cinnamon Rolls! They're hot and fresh from the oven and lookin' for friends!'. And later that day 'Chocolate chip cookies'. Even on a hot day, good gentles, there is little like chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven at an event.

And then during coronation, as others have described, our new King and Queen came forth in true style. And yes indeed, his majesty can certainly sit a horse, though her majesty was certainly competing with him in that respect. The truest star of the shining beauty of An Tir. But what truly touched my heart most was that, as the new king was being crowned, a flock of at least 15 Pelicans flew overhead in formation, as though Mother Nature herself were showing her approval in their beautious white and black feathers and regal postures.

I must say, good gentles, that with the wonder of the feast lit by a vast plethora of glowing candles, the wonderful entertainers who came there, the wonderful tourney that preceded and followed, that this is truly a reign to take note of, it was truly an event of the glory days I remember in my youth.

Thank you Lord Vladimir:

It is gratifying to know that the people of An Tir enjoy the spectacle of equestrian activities. The participants in the mounted combat demonstration were all members of the first Royal Horse Guard. They were HL Tardan ban Marca, HL Thorkel Haraldsson, Lady Ceara Roisin and myself. The Marshal for the mounted combat was my lovely wife HL Donwenna La Mareshale on Maximus. I hope that many of the people of An Tir take the opportunity to see the upcoming An Tir Equestrian Championship. It promises to be a mighty display of equestrian prowess. I am sure that it will be a spectacle that An Tirans will thoroughly enjoy.

In service,

THL Agelos Evienece
