Blazon is the language heralds historically use to describe a device, badge, or other armorial items (like a banner). It uses special, specific terminology to describe colors, shapes, and other elements of an armorial. It does this in a precise, regimented way so that any other herald familiar with blazon will be able to re-create the exact device, badge, etc. in the same way as every other herald.
