Áedán mac Suibne

Baron Áedán mac Suibne, Pelican, JdL, GdS, has been a member of the SCA in An Tir since 1998, and currently resides in the Barony of Three Mountains, specifically within the Incipient Canton of Kaldor Ness. Aedan has previously participated in the Shire of Dragons Mist and in ages past (late 1980's early 1990's) played sporadically in what was then the Kingdom of Meridies. Aedan has two primary personas within the SCA - Áedán mac Suibne, a mid-14th Century Irish gallowglass, and Khalid al-Nisiri - a Mamluk in the Bahri Mamluk period – around 1310.

Aedan started out with a strong focus on heraldry and equestrian when first coming to An Tir. Since then he has "branched out" into many other areas including service (officer positions, feast steward, equestrian autocrat), scribal, metal work, wood work, research, teaching classes, and even occasionally fighting. He has been semi-focused on the Mamluk Sultanate for several years and is hoping to finish up a few research projects in that area over the next year. He has also been active with the Sergeantry as one of Three Mountains’ first Lancers and maintains the Sergeantry study guide for the Barony.
