Event Highlights

Event Copy

We would like to invite you to join us at Aquaterra's Boars Hunt 2009, coming up in just a couple of weeks! Time to prepare your hunt animals, brush up on your hunting skills, and put the finishing touches on your contest entries, and prepare to come to the best little camping event in Aquaterra!

There will be: The great hunt (heavy), the doggy dagger tournament (heavy), rapier, youth armored hunt and doggy dagger, archery, thrown weapons, darts, bardic, art & sciences competitions, kids activities and merchants. Check here for the latest details!

There will be archery contests with prizes for the winner of both adult and children's categories. A picture of the prizes will be posted soon.

We're going to have an A&S contest - hunt animals in any medium; prizes for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced, as well as a category for Children (17 and under). In addition, to entertain the non-combatants, we'll also have an iron needle contest. Bring your scissors, reading/sewing glasses, embroidery hoops (4"-6"), thimble, and anything else you think you might need. We will supply fabric, needles, and thread/floss.

A&S Contests!

There are two A&S contests taking place. First is the Hunt Animals! This can be in any medium--cloth, wood, metal, glass, etc. Documentation will earn you extra points! Be ready to do a 5-10 minute presentation on your art or science submission.

For those who are looking for an on-site activity, we will also be having an Iron Needle contest! Bring your scissors, a 4" to 6" embroidery hoop, thimble, and anything else you would normally need for hand work (reading glasses, magnifying glass, extra light, etc.) We will provide fabric, needles, and floss.

Aquaterra Culinary Guild cooking contest

Not a siege cooking contest; I will provide a period recipe and all the ingredients to make it. It will be up to you to interpret the recipe and make a dish as authentic as you can. The main ingredient will be pork. There will be a beginner and advanced category. Pick up recipe and supplies after Saturday morning court from Baroness Fiamma at my camp (group camp 1 by the river).

Judging of completed entries begins at 3PM. Be prepared to taste and judge each others entries! Winner will be announced at evening court.
