_______________________________

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of one of ours.

Tristan Gryphonroke (mka Jeff Stone) journeyed to the Summer Lands on Tues, Jan 13, 2004. He had not played in quite a while, and perhaps may be remembered as the gentleman I was training to succeed me as Field Herald (he wore a lot of party-coloured blue and green). He is survived by his loving wife Sue, and a multitude of friends and other family.

I do not have any other information at this time, except that he passed in his sleep and that his wife has her support network in place. While prayers, kind thoughts and good energy for Sue and the rest of their family are always appreciated, if you have questions, please contact me off list. Thank you.

On January 13, 2004; my consort, my chosen, the Otter departed for the Summerlands. He passed in his sleep after a night of significant pain. Fibromyalgia, Epstein-Barr, Sleep Apnea, Depression & possible Gulf War Syndrome finally took their toll.

I believe that he is with me still, I am still his chosen wife and companion. Our wedding vows declared that our marriage would continue for so long as love shall last... I am his throughout time. Though now our contact must fall in the realms of whispers & soft sensations. There is no more pain & there is much to see & experience with joy & laughter. For what can an Otter do, but play.

Please my friends, do not forget how very short life can be. He died unexpectedly at 44. The coroner's office has finally found the cause of his death, drug toxicity, an interaction of the medications used to treat his Fibromyalgia, Depression, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Gulf War Illness - a combination of Neurontin, Oxycodone, Oxycontin & Effexor. A hair too much & they cascade interact & cause the lungs to fail. His death was peaceful but preventable if we had only known all the interaction possibilities before hand.

We were blessed with 12 years of togetherness and our last words to each other were I love you. He encouraged me to pursue my dreams the night before his death. He felt there was much in our life to be gained by my giving myself to the goals we had discussed. He served his country, he served his kingdom, he served community. Ever the jester, ever the gentleman, ever the flirt. He once told me that he loved women, from 8 to 80, that each & every one deserved to be cherished & made to laugh. He did his best … may the memory of him bring smiles to the ladies he so entertained & fussed over… did you ever get the chance to eat his garlic prawns/shrimp while in camp?

It is easy to lose track of the true priorities in this hectic life we lead. He truly believed that each of us, has the power to bring wonders to this world, to be all that we can be, to reach our potential & surpass it, all while living full loving lives in balance with the universe.

Bless his passage.. hail & farewell my love

Be happy or at least peaceful at heart, while the loneliness & pain are real so is the joy. Look to the seas & stars you will find him dancing there.
