Black Stag Herald

Black Stag was the title originally used Black Lion's deputy in charge of heraldic education. The first such deputy was Dame Zenobia Naphtali, whose badge (Fieldless) A stag springing to sinister regardant sable, was the basis for the title. These duties are now the purview of Argent Scroll.

In June A.S. XL the title of Black Stag was transferred back to Dame Zenobia permanently for her personal use as Herald Extraordinary. The transfer was proclaimed by the Laurel Sovereign of Arms and the Crown of An Tir.
