Can someone please explain why the members of the Order of the Silver Pillar have special pillar names? There must be a history behind this practice!

Needed: a cleaned-up version of the image of the order badge so we don't need the "proper mullet of eight points" image.

Hi Elizabeth - thank you for adding the reason for the special Pillar names! I've added an image of the Order badge, without the mullets voided, as per the blazon.
