Richard H. Stalter

Richard Henry Stalter, 53, of Ephrata, Wash., died Nov. 4, 2004.

He was born April 26, 1951, in Denver. He lived in Longview from 1963 to 1987, graduating from Mark Morris High School in 1970 and Lower Columbia College.

Mr. Stalter served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and in Desert Storm in the Army National Guard. He was an English teacher in Ephrata and owned and operated a craft business with his wife, Laura Kay Stout. They were married Oct. 8, 1982, in Longview.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jennifer Stalter; a son, Nathaniel Stalter; his parents, John and Kathryn Stalter; two sisters, Ginger Meyer and Alice Hulford; three brothers, Larry Stalter, Robert Stalter and Kevin Stalter; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association for Asthma Research, 2625 Third Ave., Seattle, WA 98121.

This gentle's name has been added to the Scroll of Honor and was honored at the Riderless Horse Ceremony at May Crown XXIV.
