A presumed defunct, absorbed or renamed incipient shire that existed within the Rivers Region upon the publication of the first edition of Currents regional newsletter in March 1991. The exact locale of Sylvan Vale is not known at this time but the Rivers Region then included all lands between Kelso, WA to Corvallis, OR north to south and Hood River, OR to Astoria, OR east to west.
