Domesday Book
Greetings An Tir,
I'm sorry to report that the 40 year Domesday Boke CD will not be available by 12th Night, it will be delayed until Kingdom A&S in March.
That was the bad news, the good news is that both the 20 year and 40 year Domesday Bokes will be at 12th Night and for those who need a Boke fix while they are waiting I will have copies of the 20 year CD there for sale ($15 USD $20 CDN proceeds to go to the Raven Travel fund).
Thanks for your patience, Dame Tamlyn
Twelfth Knight Auction
Greetings,
Only three more days to Twelfth Night!
This is going to be the final update for the 12th Knight Auction. The auction will begin PROMPTLY at 11:00 Saturday IMMEDIATELY before the Final Court of TRM's in the Grand Ballroom. The items will be available for inspection Friday night at Merchants and Saturday morning at the Grand Ballroom.
Along with the usual update of items for bid below, you might notice THE most unusual donation ever to the Chivalry Auction. Just when you think there are no surprises left in the Society.... ;-)
Remember, all proceeds this year go to the victims of the many natural disasters this year via the International Red Cross. There are still 10's of thousands of people still homeless in Pakistan, Central America and New Orleans this winter.
Often I hear the question of 'How can I help with this project?'
The answer is quite simple. Come bid! Bring your friends and help THEM bid! Tell your friends to tell THEIR friends!
The ultimate success of the auction relies on two factors. High quality Donations (which we again have this year) and LARGE amounts of participation from the bidders.
So please spread the word, come to the Auction and bring 3 people. It is always a good time, our Auctioneers, (Sir Brand and Sir Skeggi!) will put on a great show and the bargains are sometimes quite excellent (here's a hint, the bidding often starts at half or less of the approximate value!)
This year the list of donations are impressive indeed. Following the list of donations are additional instructions for donors and bidders.

At Pennsic this year it scored 92 of 100 in the brewing competition and won the unofficial Judges Choice. Approximate value - $75
And finally, the winner of 'The Most Unusual Donation Ever' award goes to...
Sponsor - Sir Brand Donor - Johann Description - The winner of this bid will be allowed the honor of cutting off the braid of Johann. The hair itself will be donated to Locks of Love, but the Bidder will have the privilege of performing the actual shearing (Possibly on the spot if that is their desire!) The braid will be approximately 20 inches long and has been farmed for 16 years. It's time to harvest the crop! Approximate value - Who can truly put a price on this???
The rules:
Donors: Please bring the physical donations to myself or my Lady Mistress Cêt Friday night. We want to put things out for people to see them and it helps build 'buzz' for the auction on Saturday.
Bidders: All bids are due immediately (no IOU's). Cash is preferred but checks are accepted. Make all Checks out to the International Red Cross. You may send a bid with someone you trust, but it is a LIVE auction, so someone must be there to bid for you if you cannot personally attend.
Permission is not only given, but encouraged for this message to be forwarded in it's entirety to ANY forum, email list, or newsletter that may be interested.

An Tir Idol
Greetings to the populace from His Lordship Emryn Lioncourt;
During the 12th Night festivities, the first An Tirian Idol competition was held in an effort to bring out many of the bards that are hiding throughout the Kingdom and - since we held it, they DID come!!!!
Before I begin the play-by-play of the competition, I would like to thank all of the good gentles that made it possible for us to hold this competition:
My lovely wife, Dame Arwen was a constant lifeline for me and was a large inspiration in my decision to hold this competition. Without her, it could not have happened.
I would also like to thank Togrul and Thyra for babysitting Watson, my Corgi, while we were judging throughout the competition. You guys were a huge help!!!
As to the competitors, I thank you all for coming out and putting your heart on the line in order to entertain us all. You all did such a wonderful job.
To Master Conchobhar and Dame Arwen, I thank you for judging and for giving the competitors advice and critique on their music.
I additionally wish to send my thanks to all the members of the populace who came in to listen and support the competitors. Without you all, it wouldn't have turned out so wonderfully.
To Penelope Violett, I also greatly appreciate your efforts to secure us such a great room in which we were able to hold the competition.
As to the competition itself, it was such a success that we had to award two
grand championships - one to Sir Brand and Mistress Cambric and another to
Maestro Giuseppe.
Sir Brand and Mistress Cymbric enchanted us all with a musical round that utilized a bit of drama-in-movement that seriously relayed a story so heart-wrenching that many eyes teared-up with emotion.
Maestro Giuseppe captivated us with an Aria that included such precise vocal arpeggios that many believed that they were dreaming. Both were such a pleasure to watch and listen to.
As to the remaining competitors, all were fantastic and deserving of high praise as well!! Mistress Ketterlin entertained us with a beautiful song reflecting life in the SCA (she did, by the way, write the song herself); The Lady Sionann performed a wonderful piece of music that emphasized a great deal of vocal-control and she pulled it off wonderfully; Aislinn Hansdottir performed a beautiful bardic piece that kept the crowd in place; Lady Yseult's lovely voice echoed through the hall and I overheard birds outside talking about how envious they were of her voice;
Falstaff Arpeggio's rendition of "Scarborough Faire" definitely earned his last name for him; Sir Brand's Pennywhistle music was so perfect and precise that many were wondering how those sounds could come from a single instrument; Lady Eala teamed with the Harping of Master Conchobhar to sing a beautiful Irish piece that was extremely heart-felt; Lord Demetrius of Sparta sang a beautiful rendition of Ave Maria and Pavarotti himself was growing jealous; Finally, a mysterious lady who goes by the name of Venice walked-up and sang an unaccompanied Irish piece that came directly from the heart, all were enraptured by her singing.
While the winners of the Idol competition each received a full CD to be produced by myself and distributed by Arwendell Records, I felt very strongly that the remaining contestants deserved a prize as well, so they were awarded with a free 5-song CD as well - please note that I used the term AWARDED (they definitely earned it - they were GIVEN nothing).
In closing, we really enjoyed hosting this competition and will definitely do it again next year, but we will probably do it at a different event.
Thank You One and All;
Emryn Lioncourt Producer Arwendell Records

Personal Memories
(Add your personal event memories here. End them with a blank line, four dashes and another blank line. Don't forget to sign them with dash-dash-tildex3. Reminder: it's considered VERY rude to edit someone else's memories.)
12th night was a fantastic event and It was wonderful to see so many old friends, fight and socialize.
The QR Championship was won by a gentleman from Washington area (I believe) who's name I can barely guess at (Tarrik? Torquil? ) someone help me out here, he is not well know to me.
But I did want especially to mention that our very own Randolph Dana now Alverro Ferrairo was elevated to Order of White Scarf! In addition to that. Lordship Connel McClaren and Lord Ramon De la Vega were also elevated to OWS.
All elevations were much deserved and long overdue. Many Many Happy people :)
It was an exciting weekend with amazing clean fighting. I had an awesome time.
best regards, Lasairiona
