Cassandra Rose Curran was born in Kilfenora, Co. Clare in 1580 to a diocese that had seen better years. Despite being the 'City of Crosses', the poverty of the city made it an unattractive appointment to Protestant Bishops being installed in the country. As a farming town built around a monastery, there was little interest in what it could offer. Cassandra thought similarly, seeing what little good is done for devoting oneself to the topic of religion, and receiving only scorn from Bishops who don't want to rule over the Poorest See in Ireland. During the 9 year's war, there seemed so hope in the fight against the English. In 1600 the Legendary Irish Chieftain, Aodh Ruadh O'Domhnaill took rest in Ballynagowan Castle during their attack on The Earl of Thomond for English alliances, sparking hope for those who did not wish to shrivel under English rule. Disguised as a young man, she booked passage away from her homeland and has traveled the greater world, looking to experience life without the lens of religious war.

I'm still pretty new to the SCA. My first event was Twelfth Night 2024. I pretty quickly fell in love with the opportunity to learn so much about so many parts of the world and have had a little bit of trouble with decision paralysis. 16th century Ireland has precious little to go off of so I've broadened my interest to the brave endeavor of Landsknecht... wish me luck.
I have some health conditions that limit the ways in which I interact with the world, but when the joints cooperate I fight rapier.

Using few extant pieces combined with Sumptuary laws to approximate Irish fashion from the 16th century.
