Johanna Katarina Morgenstochter

Johanna & Katarina Morgenstochter were born in a small keep in the north of Germany in the early 16th century. As twins many people cannot tell them apart to simply look at them so they often get credit/blame for one anothers actions. Johanna is an industrious girl who applies herself to the lessons and tasks that are given her. Katarina... not so much. Their father sent them to foster with their aunt at the appropriate age and she continued to teach Johanna and attempt to rein in Katarina. In the girls thirteenth year the three were to journey to England to visit the sister's aunt's husband's family. The ship was blown off course by a sudden squall. After a long frightening journey the ship was escorted to landfall by a ship named "Crimson Star" and the surviving crew and passengers came ashore in the Barony of Lions Gate. Their aunt survived landfall by only a few days and the girls traveled inland to the then Canton of Lionsdale and were able to establish a new home there.
