100 Days a Scribe

100 Days a Scribe is a long-term creative accountability project founded and organized by Nykera Drago D'Argento. The project encourages participants to engage in scribal practice on 100 days within a year, with flexibility in medium, style, and focus.

Participants commit to 100 days of scribal practice within a year, with flexibility in medium, style, and skill focus. The project is designed to support long-term habit-building, skill refinement, and resilience through sustained creative work. The realization that as an artist we commit 1/3 of our year to our art- while we may not be able to engage the muse 100 days in a row we do engage at least 100 days in a year. The purpose of the accountability project is to encourage artists to appreciate their own efforts, to encourage the efforts of others, to inspire new and experienced scribes and to foster a community of growth, education and support for many who may feel alone in their craft. The community provides not just emotional support, but educational support and endless resources and broadens access to other atists world wide. Creating an environment of shared experiences and knowledge.

The challenge is hosted concurrently across Facebook, Discord, and Instagram, allowing participants to engage at varying levels of visibility and interaction. Emphasis is placed on encouragement, process-focused sharing, and community support rather than output volume.

Purpose

The project is based on the understanding that while artists may not engage creatively every day, many do return to their craft consistently throughout the year. By recognizing 100 days of engagement rather than consecutive participation, the project supports sustainable creative habits.

The purpose of the project is to:

  • Encourage appreciation of individual creative effort
  • Support and inspire both new and experienced scribes
  • Foster long-term habit-building and skill development
  • Create a supportive community focused on growth, education, and shared experience

Format

Participants determine their own areas of focus, which may include calligraphy, illumination, research, layout design, experimentation, or reflective process work. Engagement is measured by participation rather than output, emphasizing process over productivity.

The community provides both emotional and educational support, offering shared resources, peer encouragement, and access to a broad network of scribes worldwide. The project aims to reduce isolation among artists and expand access to learning and collaboration.
