Name

While all languages have particular nuances with accents and inflections, Sibilia's name may be broken down mundanely in sounds as follows:

  • Sibilia = Sih-bee-lee-uh
  • dell'Acqua = dell-lah-quah

Sibil is always an acceptable alternative.

Sibilia is an Italian version of the ancient Greek Sibyl, or "Oracle." dell'Acqua is a surname meaning "of water," commonly used in Venice during the later Middle Ages.

Sibilia's secondary persona (and first registered name) is Sybell Woderose which appears on her early charters.

Persona

Sibilia is a widow who lives in the city state of Venice at the turn of the 16th century. Upon her husband's death, she is attempting to take on his business as a vendecolori (color merchant) and navigate the Guild politics of her era.
