Heavy Sergeant: A branch of the sergeantry specializing in heavy weapon fighting, who are tested in all the skills of knighthood: arts, sciences, warfare, courtly manners, dancing, heraldry, bardic, and games.

They are generally in direct fealty (devotion and loyalty) to the Baroness of the branch for which they tested. Some Baronies have them in fealty to both the Baron and Baroness, and others have select categories (eg: Courtier) in fealty to the Baron.

The Barony of Blatha An Oir has chosen to have all branches of the Sergeantry (Heavy Sergeant, Gallant, Yeoman, Courtier, Engineer, and Lancer) swear fealty OR service to both coronets, regardless of gender identity, to allow for any variations of leadership in the future. Swearing service or friendship is to allow those who do not wish to divide fealty away from their knights or other relationships. Since several peers of the Kingdom have chosen to serve as sergeants as well, it has helped ease questions of divided loyalties. No one should be refused entry based on fealty relationships if they wish to serve their barony as a Sergeant in good faith with honor.
