The Barony of Aquaterra Invites you to Ursulmas
As the subject says, the Barony of Aquaterra would like to invite you to Ursulmas. If you haven’t read the good news on the Kingdom Calendar http://www.antir.sca.org/Upcoming/?Event_ID=1403 , the merchants will be in with the rest of the event this year. No need to bundle up to purchase their wares! We have our own web site http://www.baronyofaquaterra,org/ursulmas We will run a best dressed bear contest to please St. Ursul and will also be taking DONATIONS of new fuzzies of call kinds to the cause of St. Ursul. We will have several tournaments including Aquaterra’s own old folks *ahem* Gideon de Noirville Prememorial Heavy Tournament (over 40) & Grumpy Old Bear Tourney - Rapier (over 40) and a Sable Rose tourney hosted by Duchess Angharad. Archery and Thrown weapons will be held outside in the covered area. There will be an Arts & Sciences booth in addition to a Living History demo. Darts & Games will go on near the back of the Arena nearly all day.
Bring your mundane friends to Gold Key and talk to the Chatelaine deputies about Aquaterra. Bring your children to the Pied Piper. Bring your bardic skills to the open bardic in the LongHouse.
As with any event, we can use volunteers in many different areas such as Lists, Waterbearing, Gate, Constabulary, Chirugeon, Heraldry, Marshelling, Pied Piper and of course my favorite, Gold Key/Chatelaine’s booth! If you’d like to volunteer, please contact the autocrat at ursulmas@baronyofaquaterra.org
Parking is at a true premium this event. Gate will be upon the building rather than in the parking lot. Unless you are event staff, plan on keeping your car at the sleeping hall or have a handicap permit, expect to park out in the larger main lot of the Fairgrounds. We will have a drop off/pick up area for those needing to do so (fighters with more gear than one trip from the car etc). Parking will be very strictly enforced.
Fairgrounds contract states: Dogs/Pets - Are not allowed in the Equestrian Park or any building, barn, arena, speedway, etc., unless contracted as an integral part of an event. Exceptions, assistance dogs or police dogs in the performance of their duty. Lease Laws apply to the Fairgrounds. Owners are to clean up after their animals. *** Keep in mind how COLD it is outdoors in your consideration of bringing your pets!!!!
Fair food will be available at the fairgrounds. Several restaurants exist in the local area if you wish to eat off site.
Feel free to post to other lists!
- HL Tessa Tazzi & HL Utgar the Mad
